Lead Blanket Specifications

Specifications: Traditional PVC/Laminate covered, double sewed construction

  1. Available in various sizes, shapes and weights—typical loading of 10 and 15 lbs./sq. ft.
  2. Traditional type coverings (PVC/Nylon laminate) of 14 oz. per square yard inside and 18 oz. per square yard outside.
  3. The continuous lead wool rope is evenly compressed and secured (fixed) using a continuous diamond quilting pattern sewed with a repeat of approximately 8" to 9" throughout the blanket and, in addition, a sew line down the center to further "fix" the lead. The result is approximately (5) isolating pockets per every foot of blanket, completely securing the lead wool rope—see warrantee information above.
  4. The inner blanket and outer coverings are secured with a double stitch line in a 1-3/4" border all around the blanket perimeter.
  5. Grommets spaced in the border area as required—special fabrication techniques yields strength approaching 300 lbs.
  6. Some blankets require a border at the ends only or not at all--- grommets mat be located within the leaded portion of the blanket. Grommet spacing and location optional.

Specifications: PVC/Laminate covered, completely sealed construction

  1. All of the same options and internal construction as with the Standard double sewed constructed lead blanket described above.
  2. The use of Radio Frequency Heat Sealing methods fuses the Inner and outer coverings together around the complete border, including the grommets. The border edges are rounded and therefore not a "cut" hazard to the installers.
  3. Grommets spaced in the border area as required—tested strength exceeds 300 lbs.
