Kewaunee Power Station
Challenge: Kewaunee had a high activity spent resin tank with bulky water tank shields that allowed for streaming of radiation.
Solution: They installed our interlocking (no streaming), stainless steel, 7 ft. (2.1 m) tall, 1-1/2 ft. (.46 m) thick water shields. The water shields have a 1-1/2 inch (3.8 cm) lead sheet equivalent and a gauge that clearly displays the water level at all times.
Results: The NPO water shields present an orderly appearance with greater than 90% attenuation.
